Privacy Policy for EXIF Metadata Lab
About this policy
EXIF Metadata Lab is provided by Aktyva konsaltynh technologies. This policy describes how the current app handles information when you import, inspect, compare, edit, clean, save, or share photographs.

Information accessed and stored
The Android app accesses photographs you select through the system file picker. It copies selected files into its private local workspace so they remain available for later inspection. It stores their filenames and file types and reads file sizes, image previews, and supported embedded metadata.
Depending on the photograph, metadata may include image properties, camera and lens details, equipment serial numbers, exposure settings, capture dates, orientation, GPS coordinates and related location fields, descriptions, artist or owner names, copyright information, comments, and other supported tags. Imported files may contain additional metadata beyond the fields displayed by the app.
The app also handles values you enter when editing supported fields. It saves preferences such as your export filename suffix, technical tag display setting, and metadata-removal confirmation setting locally.
GPS information is read from selected photographs. The current app does not request access to the device’s live location or camera. No account or registration is required.
How information is used
The app processes photographs locally to display previews and metadata, compare photographs, prepare edited copies, remove selected supported tags, and save or share copies at your direction. Editing and cleaning operate on copies and preserve your source files.
JPEG, PNG, and WebP support EXIF reading and writing. Other formats support inspection where the metadata reader can read them. Available information depends on each file.
Collection, network use, and advertising
The inspected implementation does not upload photographs or their metadata to the developer and contains no developer-operated account service, analytics, advertising, or remote crash-reporting integration. It does not transmit app usage information to the developer.
The Android manifest includes Internet permission, but the current photo-processing functionality contains no network transfer implementation. There is no app-operated transfer for which encryption in transit can be described.
Sharing and external services
The app does not automatically share your photographs or metadata with advertisers or other external recipients. When you save a copy, the system file dialog lets you choose its destination. When you open or share a saved photograph, the app grants the receiving application access to that file. The file includes any metadata that remains after your selected changes.
A destination or receiving application you choose may be a cloud storage or sharing service. Its handling of your file is governed by that service’s practices and settings.
The app uses AndroidX ExifInterface for metadata processing and Android and Compose libraries for its interface and system integration. No advertising or analytics SDK was identified in the inspected dependencies.
Android backup
The app enables Android’s backup capability. Depending on your device, Android version, backup provider, and settings, local app files and preferences may be included in system-managed backup or restoration. This may include imported photographs and prepared copies. Backup handling is controlled by the platform and your backup settings rather than an app-operated server.
Retention and deletion
Imported photographs, stored filename information, preferences, and successfully prepared copies are kept in local app storage. The current implementation has no scheduled deletion period or in-app control for deleting individual workspace files. Prepared copies may remain in storage even when they are no longer displayed after restarting the app.
You can remove the local workspace and preferences by clearing the app’s storage through Android settings or uninstalling the app. This does not delete original photographs, exported copies, files received by other applications, or system-managed backups. Delete those separately through the relevant storage location, application, or backup controls.
For privacy or deletion questions, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The app has no developer-hosted photo repository, and contacting the developer does not provide remote access to erase files on your device.
Limits of metadata removal
Cleaning removes supported tags in the groups you select. Embedded previews, unlisted fields, other metadata containers, and information visible in the photograph itself may remain. Orientation is retained to preserve displayed rotation. Metadata cleaning is not a guarantee of anonymity. Review the prepared copy and remaining information before sharing it.
Security
The app stores its workspace and preferences in Android’s private app storage and uses system file-selection, saving, and sharing interfaces. Processing errors are written to Android’s local diagnostic log; error details may include file paths or other technical context. No remote log-reporting service was identified.
The inspected implementation does not add app-specific file encryption. Protection also depends on your device security, operating system, backup settings, and the destinations and applications you choose. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
Children’s privacy
A specific intended age group has not been established in the supplied information. The current app has no child-specific account or data-collection flow. Photographs selected by a user may contain children’s images or personal information, and those files receive the same local processing described in this policy.
Privacy contact communications
If you email the privacy contact, your email address and any information you include will be available to the recipient and handled through the email services involved. Avoid sending photographs or sensitive metadata unless necessary for your inquiry. A specific retention period for support correspondence has not been established.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app or its data handling. Review the policy made available with the app for the current description of its practices.
